Treatment of Prior Nissen Fundoplications in Merced, CA
If you are suffering from symptoms of GERD, contact our specialist Dr. Alfred Johnson, MD today! For more information, call us or schedule an appointment. We are conveniently located at 240 East 13th Street Merced, CA 9534

If you have GERD and have had surgery for a laparoscopic or robotic Nissen fundoplication but are still suffering from reflux symptoms or having worse symptoms, we may be able to help you. Did you have to resume taking anti-reflux medications like Prilosec or Nexium? You would first need a thorough evaluation of your current esophageal anatomy and physiology, which we can arrange. It may be as simple as determining that something else caused the symptoms, like a gall bladder. Once we have determined that there is a definite problem, Dr. Johnson has many years of experience in taking down prior fundoplications to repair the hiatal hernia and reconstruct the anti-reflux valve. There is a much greater chance of success if mesh was not used to repair the hiatal hernia in the first operation.
